SIGNS AND WONDERS!

We think of them as signs—wondrous coincidences that seem inexplicable, answers to prayers that come out of nowhere, our world suddenly confirming a choice or warning us “not to go there.”

Actually, Spirit is speaking to us all the time—not just as voice from the clouds, but through every moment of our world. What we call signs and wonders are what the world looks like to us when for a single moment we suddenly become aware of what Spirit is saying. The only reason this is rare, is because we imagine Spirit to be "disembodied" –i.e. heaven as separate from earth, and our selves as separate from their source.

Because we imagine Spirit to be something other than the substance of who we are, we imagine that our prayers will be answered in words as a mental "message" or "intuition." But this is only because we see our selves as separate from Spirit, and we therefore imagine that Truth speaks TO us as something else from somewhere else. So long as we assume this separation, we also imagine that Spirit is abstract and vague, and that God’s voice should sound “spiritual” or have a special light around it.

When we stop presuming “separation first” we see things differently. Everything that exists is the expression of Spirit, Love, the divine intelligence. What is not of this holy Spirit, Love, has not the intelligence and substance of God, and so it has no authority. Seeing what is versus what seems to be and is not, demands we take a closer look at things. This is why genuine spirituality is not esoteric. It does not encourage us to look off into the “inspirational” but rather to look deeply into what is before us until we see God speaking to us directly from it. In this way, God’s voice is no longer disembodied. And our world becomes literally the voice of God speaking to us. We see the world before us as God’s nouns and verbs—God’s vocabulary. And what a huge vocabulary it is. Each minute a complete new rewrite of the same old story: "God is Love.
