#5 MORE ON SIGNS AND WONDERS!
It is really important that we tackle this issue, namely: "The Wedding of Heaven and Earth"* and begin to see the world as God's body. Why expect God’s guidance to speak to us only in words, or as some inspirational quote we've heard before? The whole world is already speaking to us as God-in-action. God seems occasional to us because of this presumption of separation. When we first presume God's absence, we discount everything what we are looking at. We consider it mortal and inconsequential compared the so-called spiritual and real and eternal and, and, and.... Yet, how we treasure those rare instances when that which is real breaks through to us and speaks to us directly as our world. This we call a “sign.” The next time we are tempted to ask, "Where is God?" or ask God for "a sign," it would be better for us to first stop our denial of God's presence, and instead call ourselves into question. New questions arise naturally when we take a closer look at what is in front of us and demand that we ourselves change--instead of our circumstances: How is this challenge
the face of God? When we stop confining God, Spirit to someplace else--namely, heaven--we begin to investigate what is before us in a new light. This is not simply the light of some so-called inspiration or illumination. It is a light that exposes the dark corners of fear and restructures what we presume to be reality. It demands we look deeply beneath our superficial take on things. When we do, God starts speaking to us out of every common thing and in every common moment. God, Spirit is the substance and intelligence of everything that is. The world becomes oracular—speaking to us directly. We no longer see the world as one thing and Spirit or God as another. Insterad, we see everything as the direct expression of Spirit--God’s idea of life. The division ceases. And this really is wondrous.
