Throughout human history people have searched for ways to prevent and cure disease. Today, we have begun to explore methods outside traditional Western medicine--including oriental medicine, alternative methods, faith healing and spiritual healing.

Spiritual healing includes physical, emotional, and psychological health.  It is just one facet of genuine spirituality.  But in genuine spirituality, we don't "use" Spirit for our personal ends--even healing ones.  Instead, as we become free from all systems and available to Spirit's presence and power, health becomes a natural byproduct of our living. In the presence of Spirit, everything that is destructive--including fear, hate, misunderstanding, and self-design--is dismantled and dissolved.  Wholeness and health are natural in the realm of Spirit-as-us.

SPIRITUALITY AS MEDICINE - [ HPD-1 ]

When we think of healing we usually think of something we have to do .  In this seminar we will discover that real healing is quite different.   Healing is a realm, not MERELY a process or  event.  In this realm, health is the natural state of affairs.  But when we move to this new and "foreign land" we can take very little with us.   We leave behind the paradigms through which we filter reality, and we leave behind the destructive qualities of self-centeredness, self-will and self-justification.   We will also experience this healing realm--a place where unreasonable Love is the only law.

This seminar overturns old premises and challenges our limits:

• What's the difference between faith healing, alternative methods, and genuine spiritual healing?

• Does my whole life have to reach "spiritual wholeness" just to have a healing?

• What is the role of Grace in healing?  

• After I pray, do I just hope and wait?

• If healing is a realm, how do I get there? 

• How can some spiritual "realm" help me?  I'm down here in the everyday world.

• How can there be a "way" to heal that has no steps and no systems?

Sometimes problems seem so overwhelming we lose our sense of Spirit's presence and get scared.  The mind, with all its confused and fearful concepts, takes over.  We feel flooded with questions, doubt, and darkness.   We try to lean on faith, and often find it insufficient to sustain us.  At such times, our concepts and so-called "spiritual understanding" can fail us as well.  We need to experience the actual healing presence of Spirit.  This seminar helps us get back on track and gives us renewed vision and strength.

When it comes to healing, the threat of death hangs over us like a huge ultimatum.  By death's standard, sooner or later every medical system and healing method ultimately fail.  We all die.  In order to become healers, we need a different understanding  and experience of birth, death, and the space between the two.
